Slumdog Millionaire Questions

What is the impact of "Foreign Film" on you the viewer?

The impact of a type of film such as a foreign film can have different effects on people. As a viewer, i find that foreign films not only educate us on what is really out, but set out real life situations that people all over the world have to deal with everyday. They have a different vibe to them that the hollywood films don't have. There is no imaginative story or fantasy that hollywood stirs up, they are usually set in real places were war might be going on and not a fictional set that is set in a hollywood studio. They make you realise that even though it might be a film, things like this are still going on out there in the world. The people are real too. They are not dressed up in costumes and have loads of make-up that make them unreconizable.

What differences do you see between the "foreign film and a typical hollywood movie.

First off, in a typical hollywood film, most of the films are based on fictional stories that might not happen in real life and are most probally based on best selling novels or comic books to give a few. The hire executive producers, writers and well-known directors to film the movie. They get big actors and actresses to play the parts in the movies and sometimes have to dress up in costumes and make-up that make them unreconizable. Most movies are also filmed in studios instead of real locations. They also get a lot of promotion

In a foreign film, the fantasy life that the hollywood films indure are not the same. The stories are sometimes real, the people the choose for actors and actresses are usually people they take off streets, The locations are real and the surrondings are real too. the events that may happen while filming are real as well.

In hollywood films, the music and filiming techinques are different, They have a score and different camera angles, shots and lighting.

In a foreign film, the music is usually the type of music taht is set in the same surrondings for example Indian music. The camera shots and angles are usually continuouse and usually hand-held
